Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star, recently reacted to a fan who shouted a Taylor Swift comment after he took a bad shot at a golf tournament. Kelce was participating in the 2024 American Century Championship at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Nevada when the incident occurred. Video footage captured Kelce swinging his golf club at the ball and immediately exclaiming, “Oh no!” in response to his shot. A fan then yelled, “It’s alright, you still got Taylor!” to which Kelce humorously pointed to the crowd and replied, “You ain’t lying there.”
Throughout the weekend tournament, Kelce seemed to have Taylor Swift on his mind. During a celebrity golf game on Friday, Kelce was spotted dancing to a remixed version of Swift’s hit song “Lavender Haze” while playing the 17th hole with his brother, Jason Kelce. In another instance, Kelce apologized to a fan who was accidentally hit by one of his golf shots, going as far as kissing the fan on the arm as a gesture of apology.
Kelce’s golf outing came shortly after attending his girlfriend’s Eras Tour concert in Amsterdam. During the performance, Swift dedicated a mashup of songs to Kelce, which left him visibly emotional as he wiped tears away. His teammate Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, even came over to check on him during the touching moment. Despite being apart, Swift subtly showed her support for Kelce by “liking” a post about him being named the No. 1 tight end in the NFL.
Reports suggest that Swift plans to attend as many Chiefs games as her tour schedule allows this fall to support Kelce. Her Eras Tour is scheduled to conclude in Vancouver in December, indicating that the singer is committed to cheering on her boyfriend throughout the NFL season. The couple’s public displays of support and affection demonstrate a strong bond and mutual admiration for each other’s careers.
