Vicki Gunvalson, from the “Real Housewives of Orange County,” recently detailed a “deadly” health crisis that she experienced earlier this month. She shared on a recent episode of her podcast that she developed amnesia seemingly out of nowhere. Gunvalson recalled that there were about an hour or two missing from her memory, leaving her confused about her whereabouts. She even began speaking gibberish to a client, who happened to be a retired doctor and suspected that she might be having a stroke.
After the concerning incident with the doctor, Gunvalson’s partner, Michael Smith’s daughter Olivia, took her to the hospital. However, physicians misdiagnosed her with a sinus infection and discharged her that same night. Despite taking antibiotics, Gunvalson’s condition did not improve. Olivia decided to call Michael for help, as Gunvalson appeared lethargic and disoriented. Michael described finding Gunvalson passed out in a bubble bath, prompting him to take her to the hospital for the second time.
Following the second hospital visit, doctors discovered that Gunvalson was suffering from a massive infection that had developed into sepsis. Michael revealed that the infection was actually pneumonia, which had a significant impact on Gunvalson’s overall health. The severe infection caused her body to launch a full-scale attack, affecting not only her physical health but also her brain function.
Gunvalson emotionally recounted the moment a neurologist informed her that she had only a 10 to 20 percent chance of survival. She expressed her confusion and sadness, reflecting on how just a week prior, she was walking through Barcelona with Michael, having the time of her life. The sudden turn of events and the severity of her condition left Gunvalson and her loved ones in a state of shock and disbelief.
Despite the dire circumstances, Michael reassured fans that Gunvalson’s health is improving and that she will ultimately recover from this health crisis. He remained optimistic about her prognosis and emphasized that she will be fine.
