The day before Kaling’s supportive message, Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck. Submitting the documents in Los Angeles without an attorney, Lopez stated in the filing that the former couple separated on April 26. Sources revealed that Lopez decided to end the marriage on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding as a statement of empowerment and independence.
Lopez and Affleck first tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, followed by a larger celebration at Affleck’s home in Georgia a month later.
