Rehabilitation Plan for the Bull Involved in Oregon Rodeo Rampage

The recent incident at the Sisters Rodeo in Oregon, where a bull named “Party Bus” caused chaos and injuries during a wild rampage, has sparked discussions about the animal’s future. Despite the mayhem caused by Party Bus, the decision has been made to not euthanize the bull. Instead, Party Bus has been sent back to its home ranch with plans for further training to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The Vice President of Sisters Rodeo, Brian Witt, revealed that Party Bus will be taking a break from bucking for the rest of the year. During this time, the bull will undergo additional training at the farm in order to address any behavioral issues that may have contributed to the rampage. If Party Bus successfully completes the training and receives proper clearance, there is a possibility that the bull could return to participating in rodeo shows at a later date.

The rampage by Party Bus at the Sisters Rodeo left multiple people injured, causing concern and shock among attendees. However, Witt believes that the bull’s actions were not malicious but rather a result of being spooked and disoriented. He explained that Party Bus may have been simply trying to return to its pen and inadvertently caused chaos in the process.

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Witt reassured the public that incidents like these are anticipated and prepared for. While a protocol review will be conducted to evaluate the situation, the staff at the rodeo acted promptly to control the bull and ensure the safety of the attendees. Fortunately, the following day’s events proceeded without any issues, with all other bulls staying within the designated arena boundaries.

The decision to rehabilitate Party Bus rather than euthanize the bull demonstrates a commitment to animal welfare and second chances. By providing further training and support, there is hope that Party Bus can overcome its past behavior and potentially continue its career in rodeo shows. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of live events involving animals and the importance of proper care and training in ensuring their well-being and the safety of all involved.
